Powered by 4 AA batteries. Battery life: an estimated 10,000 lock operations. Please note: It is strongly recommended that the four AA batteries be replaced once a year.

Two operational modes: Classroom (locker door remains unlocked until lock is tapped with iButton to lock it) and Storehouse (locker door locks upon closing).
Master key is an ordinary iButton. The master key is set by pushing a button in the lock mechanism and tapping the iButton to the lock's iButton probe.
